Getting Started

When you call our office with a new matter, you will be connected with one of our experienced staff members.  Our staff member will ask you a few preliminary questions about yourself and your case, such as your name, the ages of your children (if any), address, employment information, length of marriage  (or anticipated date of marriage if you are calling for advice relating to a prenuptial agreement), and if a case has been filed, etc.  This information will remain completely confidential.  We use this information primarily to determine whether a conflict of interest prevents us from meeting with you.  
 
If no conflict exists and the attorney you requested is available to meet with you, our staff will call you back to schedule an initial consultation at our office, for which you will be billed at our regular hourly rate.  In that consultation, you will have an opportunity to discuss your current circumstances and ask any questions you may have.  You will become acquainted with the attorney and his or her approach to your case.
 
Following the initial consultation, if you and your attorney agree to work together, you will be asked to review and execute a Memorandum and Agreement Concerning Legal Services and provide an initial retainer in an amount requested by the attorney.
